  1. Hey lindsay, so glad to hear you're doing great so far! I have a question: I checked out the weight loss calculator on this site that tells you how many calories to eat and gives you a meal plan - how much weight, roughly, should I be expecting to lose? 2 pounds a week, 1 pound a week? Just trying to figure out how to assess what range is working for me. I just weaned my little girl (she's 11 months now) so I can cut my calories without being nervous now, and want to know what to be checking for.

Thanks so much for all you're doing - you are such an inspiration to us moms!!! :)

  2. hi lindsay, you look and sound amazing. i am excited and always love hearing your motivating factors and down to earth philosphies. anyway, when max was born as the 3rd and we are now approaching football x2 season and soccer so every night is pretty much everyone on their own for dinner. my saving grace for getting veggies for the kids has been prechopped bags of broccoli or mixes with carrots or even trader joe's has butternut squash, parsnips, etc prechopped and i just toss them with olive oil and salt and pepper and roast. to make them crunchy i will add some parmesan cheese and the boys think it is really delicious. the funniest thing is that they actually thought the parsnips were french fries. just thought i would share because cooking is low on my priority list and time management still, so it was a good way to feel like i was getting something healthy on the table!
    take care and miss you.

  3. Hi. New visitor here. I was wondering which DVD would work best for me if you don't mind recommending a specific one. I am roughly 15 lbs over my goal weight, seeing a nutritionist, eating regular healthy meals and doing the elliptical 6 times a week/30 min/500 calories. I need MAJOR toning and am turning to you. I lost 3 lbs this past month but am looking for some inches to be gone. I'm a beginner when it comes to this so let me know please. Btw you look amazing. I never though this flab was able to go away :(. Thank you for opening my mind.

  4. Looking great at 6 wks out!! Loving the food ideas. Thanks for keeping it real. As busy moms we don't always have time to make something gourmet. But, it is so nice to know that you struggle with the same things and manage to make it work! I lost 20 lbs on your 60 day slim down....woot! woot! Still going trying to lose that last 10 lbs...Did some Bootcamp 2 this am!!

  5. Hey Lindsay, just a quick question - is Shed 5 Fast just as good postpartum as the boot camps and workout downloads? I'm almost 8 weeks postpartum and started up with Shed 5 Fast and CMJ for now (I have all of the workouts). Is it pretty much okay just to do one where CMJ is only 23 minutes? I noticed when you posted your last workouts after Rylan that Shed 5 Fast wasn't in there (at least I think it wasn't...). Thanks Lindsay, I'm looking forward to seeing what you're doingfor your workouts with the 3 kiddies now. I find it so hard to fit in a workout now as my 8 weeker is very fussy - did Shed 5 Fast last night and my hubby had him while he cried the whole time (not hungry but gassy I guess). It's tough but I want to make sure I get the workouts in. Do you have any advice on that? Thanks Lindsay!

  6. One more question: on Sat I did Shed 5 Fast and CMJ but felt super tired after - does that mean I did too much? Should I just stick with one? Thanks :)

  7. Marci, about 1 lb a week, sometimes 2 is the perfet amount! Although sometimes you will see no loss one week and 3 lbs the next week. Which is just fine!

  8. Amy!!!!!!! I always love, love, love your meal ideas! I can only imagine how busy you are with the boys and football and stuff. I can't even figure out how I am going to do it with preschool 5 days a week in September! Miss you lil' lady! how is Ch-Town treating you? Still doing marathons?

For all of you blog readers...Amy is from our PNBC and BC2 video and 1 of my great friends from STL!

  9. Fiddle in the Kitchen...you are well on your way! Good work on dedicating so much time to it! And I just know once you add some toning it will start flying off!!! Boot Camp 2 will be the bext DVD for you. Start with the 8 week program (you will see it on the menu) and do it MWF. And keep doing yoru elliptical TR, maybe take 2 days off a week. And make sure you interval the elliptical so you are maxmizing your time...you can use the interval program on the machine or go 1 minute regular pace and 30 seconds sprint, and repeat.

  10. Leigh Anne, only 10 lbs to go!!!! Yay! How do you feel about bumping your weights up by 2 lbs?

  11. Melissa, you are motivated, love it! Being only 8 weeks out it might be too soon to do both DVDs together. But it is a super duper workout. Maybe give it another 3-4 weeks before putting them both together again.

I want you to follow the Vet schedule on this for 4 weeks
    http://www.lindsaybrin.com/2011/01/workout-schedule-shed-5-fast-challenge.html

Then let's put the workouts together on wednesdays (or day 3, just keep cardio in between your toning days) for the following 2-3 weeks.

And after that I should have a special surprise for everyone! I am buidling some software that will customize monthly workout plans! So nobody has to figure out what to do and when! I just need to get busy designing teh schedules:)

  12. Holy cats! Monthly workout software?! I can't express how exciting that is to me. I had no idea until I started the 60 how helpful it was to me to not have to guess what to do when and where (and often not doing much after thinking so hard about what to do in a given day). Yay!

  13. Lindsay, you look great! I can see your ab muscles shining through :)

I have been busting my little butt and have been seeing great results. I am not near my ideal body, but really am noticing changes.

I'm looking forward to this new software :)

  15. Awesome, thank you so much Lindsay. I am on it! And, I was able to get through a couple of entire workouts since I posted about the 2 hr boot camp workout lol. Surprisingly enough, my little 8 weeker slept in his swing yesterday for the full thing. And today I was able to fit in time as well, yay! Things are looking up :) You look great. I love that we're so close postpartum as it gives me so much motivation. Oh also, will the workout downloads still be downloadable with the new program? I like to burn a dvd for myself and do the workout from the tv... Thanks again :)

  16. Fiddle...glad you asked! You can print a calendar here http://www.momsintofitness.com/dvds/lindsay-brin-boot-camp-2 look under the video clip at the top, there is a pink hyperlink. You may want to start with 1-2 intervals instead of 2-3.

And the new software should launch Sept 1st as long as I stay on schedule! My web team is working a ton to get the programming stuff done and I have a ton of stuff to do for all the calendars, workouts, new apps and stuff!

  19. I am currently 22 weeks along with my second child. I gained about 40 lbs with my first which isn't bad but I was already a little overweight when I began. I began gaining quickly with this one and now I'm getting worried. I don't like my current weight. Is there a safe way to lose or at least maintain weight while pregnant? It's less about body image and more about health. I had worked really hard to get down to the right weight after my first. I had to because my health was so bad at that high of a weight.

    1. So glad you asked! The best thing you can do is slow the wieght gain down. Our R.D. recommends this. Maybe you want to fill out a food journal for our Registered Dietitian??? It's just $9.99 and she can help you reach this goal. You can find the food journal inside our app www.momsintofitness.com/app

I recommend it to all my breastfeeding and pregnant moms. She can make sure you are getting all the right nutrients in a proper balance and keep you on track for your goal of keeping your weight maintained.

You can maintain your weight during pregnancy. Research from Dr. Artal suggests this. But I don't know your exact story and weight...so ask your OB for exact guidelines for you.

And if you have any more questions please email us using the envelope icon at the top of my blog!
