12 weeks post-baby #3, stressed!

  1. If misery loves company, then you would've loved me last week! I, too, got thrown off by some unexpected happenings & my stress level went through the roof!! I called my parents one day & asked them to please pray for me & the kids (3.5 years, 2 years, & 3 months) so we could just survive the day! Ha!! This week is much better - glad yours is, too!!

Don't know how quickly pounds are supposed to come off, but I'm thrilled that mine are gradually dropping. I'm down 43 lbs. from birth day (June 14). 35 of those fell off in the first 6 weeks so I've only worked for the last 8. Nevertheless, I'm happy about the 8!! Still have 35 lbs. to go - you are getting me there! I'm on week 4 of Postnatal Bootcamp (12-week program) & am loving it.

Thanks for taking the time to share your expertise here. You are really helping this mom!!

  2. Ahhh, I totally feel your pain in the stress dept. My kids are being good and all and work is flowing but I'm getting down on myself about the scale, the mirror, my clothes etc. Doesn't help that I'm coming due for that time of the month...

Anyway, love that your hubby dangle running shoes... That's awesome! I'd be happy if my hubby dangled TP (implying I can potty ALONE)... haha and I only have 2 kids.

Hang in there and we're all here if you need to vent or vlog :)

    big hugs!!!

  3. I hear you on how back to school time can equal stress! It's been crazy at my end too - this week was the first week back to the PhD program after a year of mat leave lol. (I should've arranged to come back a week earlier so I could've skipped a lot of the hustle and bustle). [sigh] But I do have a non scale victory to share: every time my period is comming or is here, I have *always* struggled with eating healthy my typical way. I've worked out this deal with my husband where if I'm thinking about getting a treat, we have a conversation about it. Believe it or not, this cycle I've been able to talk myself out of all the unhealthy food! Which is huge for me at this time. Being accountable to him (he never volunteered, I voluntold him for the position lol!) is really helping me.

We all have our vices to fight :). He also just told me that when I've lost all my weight, his treat for me will be a shopping spree! I can't wait :)

  4. hi lindsay, when max was born another mom with a newborn and actually 3 other kids and i picked two nights where we brought each other's families healthy takeout. we used drive thrus like boston market for a whole chicken and the healthier alternatives. we would do bread co and many other options. i know it is takeout but the stress was off for dinner that night!

  6. I appreciate your honesty, Lindsay! I know that your priority is your family and it's nice to know you can still be frustrated, have not so ideal weeks, and come back around. Best wishes on a wonderful week this week!

  8. Lindsay, I just found your site and ordered the 60 day program. I too am 32, former gymnast, had my first girl - also a Taylor, and had #2 on 6/17/11 as well! Loving your updates and don't feel so alone. Looking forward to doing something for myself and actually encouraging my husband to get in shape as well. Thank u for putting something so personal out there.

  9. Hey Lindsay, I have recently become a momsintofitness fan! I've been doing post natal bootcamp for several months, and I just got your pre-natal series from my husband as a gift because I'm pregnant with baby number 2! My one quandry is that you have such beautiful skin on your belly. I am only 25 and my skin looks hideous after baby number 1. I am in the best shape of my life, but my skin looks like I'm 100 years old. It still affects my self-esteem sometimes (a lot of the time). I wish I could just be proud of what I've accomplished. My pre-pregnancy weight with my first was 160 and with this one it's 140, so I lost all the weight plus 20! Still, I get frustrated. Suggestions?

  10. Sorry for your stressful week! I feel like all my weeks are like that and I feel better that I'm not the only one. I have a 2 year old that loves to throw tantrums often and an 8 month old angel but work has been keeping stress in my life. Which leads me to ask, how can i fit in my exercise and finally lose these last 10 pounds? I was 130 before my first son and was able to get down to 127 before my second pregnancy. However, I gained about 40 pounds with my second pregnancy and was on bed rest for the last 2 months. I'm now 8 months postpartum and can't get below 140. I haven't been able to exercise like I used, because let's face it, it's hard to find the time with 2 kids and a full time job. Will I ever be able to drop this weight and tone up? This has me more depressed than anything!

  11. Hi Lindsay, I'm just wondering if you will be adding comments to the Facebook group 'Operation Get My Body Back'? I only see comments from group members in there. Just thought I'd ask since you're in the same boat as well... Thanks! & Hope you're having a less stressful week this week - I feel like every week is stressful lately!!

  13. So its taken me 10 days to read everybody's comments! Finally got back in the swing of things - then we had snot coming out of ears, eyes and everything in between. So we are on the mend form that...and I am sure right when we get back into a routine, something else will pop up! The story of motherhood right ladies?!?!

  14. Hopefully I get everyone's questions answered, if not, let me know!

Belly skin...good hydration from the inside (drinking water) and outside (lotion)will help. And toning is the biggest component of loose skin. But sometimes genetics isn't kind to us with our skin. I got lucky, my mom has no strecth marks - which are about 90% genetics. So try the 3 things I listed and see if that helps! Congrats on #2 and I am so glad you got the DVDs for pregnancy!

And I love hearing everybody else has their "stinky mommmy moements" - misery loves company.

Tatianna, time! I know, that's the hardest part of the equation after kids. ACSM recommend short, intense bouts of exercise...so that's the good news! You will see more results from 10-20 minutes of intensity than 30-40 on the treadmill! I have DVDs with 10 minute workouts, plus downloads for your small devices like an iPod (cause its alla bout what conveneient for you!) Try the Boot Camp DVD or download...or in a few weeks we are launching a free trial of any of our workouts. Sign up for the newsletter at the bottom of momsintofitness.com and we will send you an email when we launch the free trial!

  15. And yes...I have been meaning to get back into the Facebook group to answer questions! Just been swamped with "mommyhood" and launching our new download software. But hopefully in the meantime - Jess (one of the moms at MIF) can help you - or any of the other moms can answer your question!
