I need your help!

I was reading all of your comments - which usually have me chuckling out loud in my bed at midnight when I am catching up.  And it got me thinking.  We are wanting to launch some Personal Coaching stuff and Motivation Contests at MIF!

Tiffany, an MIF veteran, and Jess, one of the moms at MIF, are going to help get this up and running.  And we want to know what you want!

What would motivate you?  A message Board?  A personal Skype coach?  Weekly workouts & calendars?  Nutrition logs that you turn into MIF?  Weekly coaching?  Weekly weigh-ins?  Meal ideas?

Any and ALL ideas are welcome.  We all need a little extra motivation!  In fact, it took every ounce of myself to go to yoga last night at 8:00...but I had a great night's sleep and feel refreshed this morning.  Although I am still trying to catch up on my sleep after all 3 kids have been fighting the time change.  Argh!

  1. I would love the nutrition logs that you turn in! Fabulous idea :)

  2. Weekly workouts and calendars and meal ideas would help me for sure.

  3. Lost inches tracker (maybe on a silhouette of a slowly shrinking woman)to show how far you've come in the past 2 to 6 months - even more motivational than a lbs lost chart! And someone to throw a little spice into the normal workout schedules by sending out last minute switchups "Instead of S5F today we're doing a reindeer romp... with all the obstacle course moves that Blitzen would use" (or something like that :-)

  4. Weekly weigh-ins, and weekly workouts!

  5. A weekly weigh in, diet accountability (those BLT's!!!), and a different workout weekly (some variation), would be awesome. I'm wrestling with losing the last 5-10 lbs of my goal weight and accountability is really what I need, especially when my sweet husband tries to surprise me with milkshakes or asks for sweets in the house - I want to know someone is going to ask me the quetions I don't get asked at home! (By the way, I tell every new mom about your workouts, I gained 28 lbs with my pregnancy and have lost 33 so far! thanks to your workouts keeping me going!)

  6. Weekly workouts, meal ideas and some sort of weekly weigh-ins (lbs, inches, etc.) so that we can be held accountable for what we have done or haven't done during the week.

  7. Weekly workouts and nutrition plan works for me!

  8. Weekly weigh-in/workout accountability/meal & snack ideas from you and others who are participating.

  9. Daily emails to encourage and help keep me motivated to eat right and exercise. Include in the emails tips and advice on eating, exercise, etc. Even if they are for 60 days or something like that. I also like the idea of being accountable by sending in your nutrition logs to MIF and weekly weigh-ins. That alone would get my butt motivated to exercise knowing that other people will be seeing if I've made any progress. Thank you Lindsay! You are truly and inspiration to me! I really appreciate the fact that you are so relate able and down to earth. Keep up the good work! You look great for your baby only being 4 months old!!

  10. Weekly workouts would be amazing! I always get stuck in such a rut because I can't think of anything new to do and I don't take the time/energy to find a new workout. I don't have a problem with getting my workouts in, but I do the same thing all the time and my body is used to it. Oh, and since I'm now 14 weeks with kid #2, I need some ideas for prenatal workouts. Maybe you could have a prenatal section and a regular section.

  11. meals plans but a shopping list for each week would be great.. a calorie tracker/food tracker..to enter all you do and see the calories lost and food calories eaten... and yes a workout plan for each week... have it all at the begining of the week to get motivated... thanks

  12. What I like about the group on Facebook is that a lot of us are teaming up based on where we are at. It would be good to have a place to go for those who are currently pregnant, those with new borns, those who have been approved to workout, etc. I love the idea of weekly coaching too.

  13. ALL OF THE ABOVE!!! I need help SO bad!!!! The cold weather is bothering me...I live in a bad neighborhood that I don't feel safe running in and it's freezing here! Being inside isn't always fun either. :(

  14. I like all the ideas too. I wonder if you can "create" some kind of fitness individualized tracker where someone would enter all their measurements, height, weight, and goal...etc, and it could compute for them the best weekly plan to use...for example, someone who has 50lbs to lose, might want to use a seperate eating and exercise plan than someone who has 5lbs to lose and is nursing...(just an example), you could create mulitple profiles and it would tell each person what to do based on the above using your videos/monthly calendars and eating plans. Then possibly they can be "put" into a group that has the same commonalities (goals). Hope this makes sense.

  15. I agree that it all sounds amazing!! Anything that keeps me stay accountable is so helpful! Also, anything that helps me with a schedule and assistance keeping variety! Challenges would be great, especially with some sort of "prize" for the winner(s). I would love the coaching as well! I love the facebook group too! Are you thinking that this would be a part of your portal? Through facebook? Free or fee? I can't wait to hear more!

  16. I am definitely motivated by competition! I would love something like that!! This is what I love about your workouts/programs, I doubt I'll ever get bored :)

  17. Awesome idea! Of the options you listed, the following would be the most helpful to me:
    -A personal Skype coach
-Nutrition logs that you turn into MIF
    -Weekly weigh-ins

I think of the options you listed, these ones will force more accountability and get people like me eating healthy and working out on days where we *seriously* feel like doing neither lol! Also, I'm pretty sure I've heard that weight loss programs that include more personal forms of accountability are more successful. For me, I'd take a skype coach and weigh in as seriously as if I was on some expensive program!

    That's my vote :)

  18. I would love weekly weigh-ins and contests! Nothing like trying to meet a new goal with competition in mind :). O and new recipies! Maybe a new one with each week? You could even ask for healthy recipies from your followers. I'm sure they have some to add as well.

  19. Love the weekly workouts and calendars. It makes it so much easier to get my workout done when I know what I have to do and what days, instead of thinking about what I want to do that day. If it's not planned it's easy to just say "ah, bag it...I'll workout tomorrow"

  20. I think it would be super motivating to have groups of us (grouped by location) training for a particular event-- like a sprint tri, a half marathon, 5k, etc-- and then we have training plans that incorporate the toning exercises, and then we can motivate each other as we work toward the specific event. And how fun then that we'd all have an excuse to get together and support one another as we achieve our goal of finishing the race?

  21. I think it would be great to paired up with someone to be accountable to. Ideally, the accountability friend would be someone who is in a similar situation with similar goals (example: trying for a 10 lb weight loss). A food and exercise log could be shared, as well as a weekly weigh in. Hopefully, this way, we could encourage each other and reach the goals together!

  22. I need a schedule with workouts and nutrition. If it's not scheduled for me it doesn't get done and some accountability would help to. I like what Sarah said to be paired up with someone with similar situation and goals. That would be great. I have a unique situation as I am really tiny but flabby and don't care about losing weight but would love to lose some inches and get toned but none of my friends understand. They just tell me that I am skinny and I need to quit trying to make them look bad. Having someone to be accountable to that is in the same situation would help with that!

  23. Such great ideas moms! One idea to add is a motivational buddy, we could be paired up via email with another mom to be there to encourage them whether it's to get that workout in or to get our nutrition back on track! I know with myself I have been struggling with the nutritional side of things the last few months and winter doesn't help the situation at all. Love the idea of monthly workout/nutrition schedules. Having to report back to MIF is great too, we are accountable to someone and it may be easier to stay on track.

  24. I like the weekly weigh-ins and the workout schedule ideas. With some nutrition thrown (meal ideas :) in there too. All of the other ideas are great too!

  25. I love reading blogs (with pictures) and success stories... That's what I find to be motivating. So include those if you can. Perhaps feature a new mom each week?

  26. Weekly workouts will be perfect!

Competition would really help so maybe if there's a MIF community (online or as an iPhone app) and we all compare weight, workouts and encourage each other.

Another thing if you can introduce an iPhone app (or any smartphone app) that can give us weekly work outs, chatrooms, personalized advise and so on.

    Lindsay your the best!!

    xoxo

  27. I love the idea of turning in the nutrition logs weekly. I know they are important but that is what falls by the wayside on my weight loss quest. Although I think the weekly workouts and weigh ins are also great ideas. So excited to see this come to fruition.

  29. I would love:

food log evaluations,(someone that i had to admit what i ate and gave gentle nugges on what i should fix),

*pics to send to someone with measurements but not posted on web to be held accountable.

    * weekly workouts that are adapted by what you were able to do the week before.
*weekly menus with a few modifications (vegan, vegetarian etc),
    * email/text/post if i did or did not work out.
*a journal that i post most of this stuff that someone responds to within 24 hours (that's a coach) and anyone else can respond too too.

  30. Nutrition is my biggest weakness (I have a major sweet tooth). If I had to report what I ate, hopefully I would be more motivated to eat right (or to horrified to to do other wise).

  31. I'd be happy to pay for phone or Skype conversations about how to tweak what I'm doing, both workout and nutrition- wise!
