34 took my youth!

The age of 34 has taken my youth.  I only want convenience - and not to tear my rotator cuff putting 28 lb. Harper into her car seat.  And to take 5 minutes to do my hair - and not always put it in a ponytail.

So comes the year of the minivan, and saying bye my SUV I have had for 9 years!

And to the hair that I chopped off earlier this year.  I said good-bye to 9" of youthful hair.

But 34 is awesome, once I got over the fact that I am in my mid-thirties.  I am starting to realize I need to do what makes me happy and sometimes skip the To Dos.  I enjoy my job, my kids (except yesterday at 4:30 - their 7:00 bed time could not come soon enough), the hubby, and my new minivan:)

  1. Embrace the minivan! I hemmed and hawed over getting one, but it has made my life SO much easier with three kiddos. I do have to laugh, though. My 16-year old self would think my 33-year old self totally un-cool for rocking the minivan (complete with turtle carrier on the roof) down to the beach for summer vacation. Alas, we live and learn!

Enjoy 34! It's right around the corner for me :) Thanks to your Pretty Fierce series, though, I can honestly say I am in the best shape of my life. And I FEEL great too. Woop!

    1. Yeah Kelly! I was talking to my best friend from college...who would have thought in 2001 that 12 years later we would be rockin minis!

  2. Lindsay, I just started your Pretty Fierce Weight Loss DVD and I printed out the calendar. Do I have to follow the calendar or can I mix and match the workouts as long as I dont do the same one every day? Btw- I've tested out 4 of the discs already and my husband and I are both in love. You really are kicking my butt! I also have your trimester DVD from Target and loved that too. :) Thanks for everything!

    1. So glad you are enjoying it! And yes, mixing and matching shoudl be fine as long as you follow the "plan". It was designed to have a recovery week. to work your endurance for 2 weeks, to strengthen in certain muscle sequences, etc.

  3. Oh Lindsay! :-) Coming from a 33 year old, I think you're a great looking 34!!! I wouldn't say you are "old" at all, just more confident and comfortable in being yourself and knowing what you want.

If it makes you feel better, my patients who are still in their 90s and past the 100+ mark (and still getting around and living independently) call us babies! :-) And Cathe Friedrich (one of my other favorite instructors in addition to you) is in her 50s and can still smoke me in cardio and lifting weights any day of the week!
